Why I Started PulseGivers: A Letter from Our Founder

A personal letter from Irfana Aslam, founder of PulseGivers, on the moment that changed everything — and why she believes ordinary people can save extraordinary lives.

I started this because a neighbour's child died from something treatable. I couldn't let that happen again.

A few years ago, a child in my neighbourhood in Lahore fell seriously ill. The diagnosis was not a death sentence — the treatment existed, the doctors knew exactly what to do. But the family had no money. And in Pakistan, when you have no money, the system moves on without you.

The child died. Not from the illness. From poverty.

What I Did Next

I started making calls. I reached out to friends, colleagues, anyone who would listen. I raised enough money for a second family in a similar situation, and the child survived. That survival — that single moment — made me realise that the gap between life and death is sometimes just a few hundred dollars. And that gap can be closed.

Why a Platform, Not Just Fundraising

Individual fundraising is powerful but inconsistent. I wanted to build something that could work at scale — where a donor in London could help a patient in Karachi they would never meet, with full transparency about where their money went and what it achieved.

That is PulseGivers. A bridge. Between those who have a little to give and those who desperately need it.

What We Promise You

  • Every patient is personally verified before we raise a single rupee
  • 100% of your donation reaches the patient — zero admin fees
  • Your money goes to the hospital or pharmacy, never cash in hand
  • You receive a personal update within 2 weeks of every disbursement
  • Monthly impact reports published with full receipts

I know trust is everything in charitable work. I would not ask you to give to something I would not give to myself. Everything I ask of donors, I hold myself to first.

Join thousands of donors who have already changed lives.
